Moderation

Reviews, reports, and blocked users.

Reviews are created by app users and appear in Reviews & Moderation. Apple guideline 1.2 requires the ability to moderate — treat the queues as part of release hygiene.

Queues

Pending reviews queue

Flagged reviews

Abuse reports

  • Pending — new reviews awaiting a decision.
  • Flagged — reviews flagged by users or admins, with the reports that caused it.
  • Blocked — user-to-user blocks (informational).
  • Reports — abuse reports; resolve each after review.

Workflow

  1. Open Pending. For each review: Approve (publishes), Reject (reason required), or Flag (park it).
  2. Rejections require a reason — it's stored in the audit trail.
  3. Feature/Unfeature promotes a good review on the product page.
  4. Bulk select for approve/reject/delete when a batch is obvious.
  5. Reports page: review the context, then Resolve. Serious offenders → user suspension in Users.

Rules of thumb

  • Deleting a review ⚠️ is permanent and re-computes the product's rating aggregate.
  • Rejected reviews are visible to their author as removed — the reason matters.
  • The moderation status set is APPROVED / REJECTED / FLAGGED / PENDING (uppercase in the UI).
